First of all, I’m not a parent. But I was wondering why babies need to eat in the middle of the night? Unlike adults, do they need several small meals throughout a 24 hour period, instead of three large meals, or what?

And how old are they? Mine will be 10 months in two days and he sleeps between 5-7 hrs. a day and I think that’s too much, that’s probably the reason why he has trouble going to sleep at night (which is very frustrating for me). It’s been like this for at least 1 month.
How about your babies? Do you have any tips for keeping him up during the day? Well I work, but any tips or suggestions for the person who babysits him?

Our baby is 6 months old. We’re having sleep troubles with him. He is snack napping during the day. He takes 3 20 minute naps and by bed time he is so tired he screams for 30+ minutes before he finally falls asleep. It’s quite a project getting him to bed…
How do your babies sleep during the day? Any suggestions to get mine to sleep just a little longer during the day?
We have a routine. Bed time is the same time and place daily. He knows it is sleepy time too. His dead give away is rubbing his eyes.

I’ve heard that there are certain foods like peanuts that babies should not eat because it can result in getting them sick? I’d like to know some of the foods to avoid. Thanks.

Most books, brochures, and web sites mention that babies are released from hospitals in receiving blankets. However, it is not clear how to secure baby in the car seat with 5-point harness if he/she is blanketed? We live in SF and expect to bring our baby home in January. Thank you very much!
