95 Ford Ranger. Baby car seated?
I and my girlfriend have a baby coming up soon, I have a 1995 ford ranger extended cab.. Super cab.. Whatever. The seats are set sideways and really are not that big, when I put the carseat into test it, it seems to be wobbly… Are you able to put a carseat in this vehicle?

Infant seats need to face to the rear, not sideways or toward the front. As far as the wobbly thing, if a seat moves more than one inch in any direction it is not properly installed. See your local police/sheriff/highway patrol, they can show you how to install the seat properly.

yes, u can find it on ebay

You can use a carseat in the Ranger but ONLY in the front seat!! The baby should always be facing the rear of the vehicle. NEVER put a carseat in the jump seats facing sideways because it will surely cause serious injury or death if a collision. Your girlfriend would just have to ride in the back if you don’t want to change vehicles.
——————————————————————————–
The baby’s car seat must allow the baby to face REARWARD…..NOT SIDEWAYS OR TO THE FRONT. See the owners manual for the baby seat.

Looks like you may have to trade your vehicle in on one that can accommodate a baby seat safely. If you have questions, stop into any State Police barracks and they can check the installation to be sure the little one will be safe while the vehicle is in motion.

while a car has a seatbelt yes….As for wobbleing..Its normal….Just pull it forward quickly and see if the seatbelt locks….If it does your sorted

any suggestions on 10 month old baby car seat?

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

It is not necessary to buy a new carseat if the cover is removable/washable. Spray the cover with pet stain/odor remover then wash in hot water with a good detergent then let air dry. If smell still lingers try febreeze. The urine will be gone, since you washed it, so your child will not be sitting around in cat pee.

Wash the cover and seat down using non-biological washing powder – diluted with water. This removes the ammonia smell from the seat and prevents the cat from doing it again.
Try not to cover the smell i.e deororant etc the rarely works and cat continus to urinate. Also do not use febreeze this has been shown to be toxic to cats in recent studies!!

you could try lemon juice as it neutralises the smell or just use biological washing powder either of them should work
——————————————————————————–
i would buy a new one not just because of the smell but for the babies health, also how would you like to sit in a seat knowing that something has weed on it
——————————————————————————–
I agree with Blue apple, just buy a new one and don’t allow the cat in the car without it being in a carrier!
——————————————————————————–
There’s a special detergent you can get from pet shops, comes in a spray dispenser.
——————————————————————————–
Use a citrus smelling cleaner, this will get rid of the smell and deter the cat from using it to pee again as they hate the smell of citrus..
——————————————————————————–
What? The kiiten had weed? Man you should be careful not let the kitten smoke around the baby! LOL
——————————————————————————–
There is a product out there called Odo Ban. It works great on cat smells. I have 3 cats and sometimes they get mad at me and “go” in the dirty cloths basket. I have been using this product for over a year, it works great.
——————————————————————————–
buy a new one. Cats have very strong smelling pee and it also contains ammonia which can be harmful.
——————————————————————————–
Buy a new one. Sorry but no matter what you do you won’t get rid of the smell.
——————————————————————————–
There are cleaners with deodorants in them that you can buy from pet shops and some large supermarkets, but i would recommend getting another car seat if possible as you will just be masking the smell.
——————————————————————————–
I would get a new one. No matter what you spray on the car seat when it is hot in the car the smell is going to come out and it will not be pleasant. You should get a carrier for when your cat rides in the car. 10 month old kitten as weed on babies car seat.?
Any sugestions on how to get rid of smell? Thanks.

Do you legally need to use a baby car seat in a Los Angeles taxi

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Do you lawfully necessary to use a baby car seat in a Los Angeles taxi?
I am going to Los Angeles with my son of 10 months and don’t want to pass a car seat everywhere we go just want to ensure we can still get taxis without one.
Best Answer – Chosen by Voters
Yep. It is the law in CA. A car seated for every baby, a shot for small children. I do suppose you also have to have on the smooth when you fly out. Sorry.
——————————————————————————–
You can but anything happens and your son doesn’t stay a venture of survival.

Why take the expose?
——————————————————————————–
I understand it’s an intense sting in the bump to have to handcart a car seat all over town BUT is your convenience really meaning the life of your product? Because that’s what you are risking anytime you let him drive without a seat. Regardless of the law, he wants to be in a seat every time he gets into any affecting vehicle, airplanes included! My advice would be to get an inexpensive seat, like the Cosco Scenery regularly on trade for $40 at Walmart, it can rear face (which is what he needs to be!) awaiting 33lbs. and cheeky face until 40lbs. It’s not too dreadful lashing and wouldn’t be a colossal thrashing if something happened to it and you had to get another one. Lap riding should NOT NOT NOT be a choice for a baby.
——————————————————————————–
Taxis exempt from baby seat laws. Remember however that your baby will be the one at endanger. Additionally keep in demur that taxis aren’t driving around all over the place in Los Angeles as they are in New York or Las Vegas. You ought to call them, and scheduling a lift forward of time is best. They are also 2-3 epoch as classy as the taxis in New York.
——————————————————————————–
Even if you can, roving with a 10 month old result is ridiculously risky and should NEVER be done. Putting an infant under 6 days old in anything excluding a five thrust use is more venture than its value.

have your baby in a baby carrier if your a passenger in a car

How come you’re not tolerable to have your baby in a baby shipper if your, a passenger in a car?
I think you should be allowable to have your baby in a childish baby shipper if your wandering with a buddy so you dont necessity to take a baby car seat with you everywhere

For one, most carriers have bases that the hauler attachs to and can be bent in. We contacted the maker of our carter and for only 10 buck we got an addition pedestal that we kept by the door so if we desirable it we just grabbed it on the way out the door.
As for why you cant just set the seat in by you unbuckled. Well, say you are leaning down to get the pacifier the baby just chucked or digging in the diaper bag to get a container or with your hands while you seminar… Any of several very plain reasons that your hands wouldn’t be on that seat while the car was in signal.. And you get in an accident. What is designed to block that babies seat from hasty all around the car and possibly into, or out of a glass????
You would just die if you did that and your result got injured or killed all because it was too much energy to make effective they were fastened. Those carriers aren’t proposed to just make your life easier, they are doomed to shelter your baby.

I don’t know… It is a no brainer for me. Take the time to buckle them in…You NEVER know what can ensue.

Edit: in my answer I was arrogant you were chatting about the carriers that come with most strollers, they have a source that comes with so they are also a cars seat.

If you are referring to a baby snugly…OMG!! It has been proven time and again that if you belt a result with you in a seat and are in an accident, between the air bag and the statement that you will plainly crush your toddler between the seatbelt and you…Omega…
Perfectly risky. Get worn to inconvenience honey… That is all parenthood is… Selflessness- or most would call passion and responsibility!! You do what you necessity to no worry how burdensome it is… That baby depends on it… Omega..OMG!!
——————————————————————————–
what if u wreck?
——————————————————————————–
If there was a car wreck, your baby is not virtually as secluded as they would be in car seat. What if the airbag comes out or something? It would eradicate your baby if the baby was in a shipper attached to your chest.
——————————————————————————–
What kind of “careful baby hauler?”
If you’re talking about an infant car seat….You can!
If you’re talking about the baby mover that attaches to your body……Your an idiot! It’s not permitted because people with normal awareness wouldn’t want for an innocent baby to die because they had silly parents!
——————————————————————————–
because it’s just not nontoxic! I know it’s totally grief in the base to pass that car seat around, and have to take it in and out of your car, but it’s just the safest way for your baby to journey.
——————————————————————————–
I dont think so. It can be very risky if you are to get in a car boom. The baby lock and confined while in a car seat. Not the baby carrier. What are you knock on the seat and your baby gets crushed or you fly out the car which can ensue even with seat belts.

What if the car rolls over. Those carriers aren’t innocent for that. I even have a Baby Bjorn and that a protected secure carrier and I would never do such a thing.
——————————————————————————–
You don’t look to bother about your newborn’s wellbeing. That’s why the authorities stepped in and made laws about it.

The Muse

P.S. The baby seat is designed to be installed right, too.
——————————————————————————–
Well, whisper from the palpable reasons … The first tricky would be that the baby poor on your chest will interfere with the seat belt, which would not be innocent for either of you. Then there is the front air bags … It’s just not a good idea …

I am all for baby wearisome and I do it on the bus, but not in a car.

Is a baby car seat needed in Athens

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

I’m assured my son is timely for a shot seat – its almost impossible to squash him into the baby car seat any longer – but when I was looking on the net for shot seats they said from age 4 – and hes not totally 3…
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
my girls were 3 and 4 when we switched to the shot seats with the attachable backs. Those had a stress requirement of at least 30 pounds, and that is only with the back on. A customary shot seat was 40 pounds. I would go by the load reduce, better be prudent than pathetic.

~assign me–helpless my 4 year old sister in a car accident b/c she wasn’t in car seat~
——————————————————————————–
By law the toddler should be 4 existence old and 40 pounds. If your son seems to be outgrowing his car seat look at the convertible seats that move from car seat to shot seat. My son was always big and hit the 40 lb symbol when still 3 but had to inhabit in his car seat. We had a Cosco convertible car seat / shot and it seemed comfortable for him while he grew. Also rein with your area recreation pivot or vigor department. They should submit car seat evaluations and installations. Whenever I get a new seat or have to change positions (rear facing to dispatch, seat to shot, etc) I go to them. It is liberated and takes only about 20 minutes.
——————————————————————————–

This planted wonderful for my daughter. For a booster seat they are meant to import 40 pounds and my daughter doesn’t entirely weigh that yet, but she is very tall for her age so squishing her into an actual baby car seat was uncomfortable. This is a booster seat with an unatatchable back on it. It factory just like a booster seat when the back is on it, the seatbelt just straps over the outcome and then when they rally the age/stress requirement you can take the back off and it’s just a booster seat. It’s the last car seat you will ever basic!
——————————————————————————–
If he’s too big for the car seat it’s unsafe for him.

Put him in the booster.

I’d say around 2 time is when a baby should go in a booster.
——————————————————————————–
I switched him at 3 because he outgrew the car seat.

It doesn’t worry what age your son is, the emphasis that matters most.
——————————————————————————–
3 is a good age to change to a booster seat .
It also depends on how much your kid weighs
——————————————————————————–
look at heaviness and high, if you’re in the uk go to a halfords they would be able to help, not every teen is the same.
——————————————————————————–
my DD was almost 3 but her weight was exact, though we got one with the back on, then that comes of when they are about 5/6 yrs.

——————————————————————————–
I misused my daughters car seat to a booster seat when she was 3.
——————————————————————————–
he’s not big enough for a booster, possibly you could find a better car seat

where to buy car seats

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

I have a 2 year old, who is on the right part of the backseat.. Should I put him behind the drivers area in the back and put the baby (having in Aug.) behind the passenger.. Or should I disappear the daughter seat where it is and put the baby in the central? How are your toddlers and infants placed in the car?
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
a substance of preference – the periphery that’s safer is the one outermost away from the turn of the racket, and since we can’t predict the eminent, there’s no way of intended that. Middle is safest, but the outboard positions are not unsafe. I forever put my son on the passenger rear b/c its cool for me to hand him things at stoplights. I keep 2 kids around with me, and can’t use the internal for also seat b/c 1)my car is too tiny! And 2)they clash if that close together. If you are vacant to use the average and 1 outboard location, put the slightest secluded baby (i.e., the adult one) in the core pose, b/c the babe will be more confined in his seat. Also, reminisce that the safest place is where the seat hysterics the best, too. Sounds puzzling at first, but makes substance when you think about it – put the product in the least protective font of car seat in the most protective spot in the car. Yes, the babe will be more vulnerable…Without a seat, but a newborn seat provides more protection than a convertible send facing car seat does, so your 2 year old is actually the one who should continue in the heart if you wish to desert also in the median.

You certainly have to go with what fits best, as well. In minor cars it can be tricky to put a seat in the medium and on the feature.

——————————————————————————–
I put baby on the drivers face, that way he is on the same flank of the car I get in and out of (instead of walking around the car every time) but I only have one daughter.

I also find that NOT having him evident in my rearview mirror helps me settle focused on pouring (instead of being distracted by what he burden). If I think something is injustice (such as he threw his bottle under the seat), I yank over, otherwise my #1 priority is powerful.
——————————————————————————–
I’m weird to see everybody’s opinions because we are having the same dilemma. We have convertible car seats though, and my husband’s seat has to be very far back, and a convertible seat rear facing, won’t fit behind his without him sitting near the dash. So visibly our choices are just baby in inner next to our teenager, or baby behind me. I think we are leaning towards behind me though- because our opinions are that an infant may try to help by “feeding” the baby something or generous it a toy while you are not looking and the baby could block on it. If the baby is on the other edge of the car, odds of that event are slimmer…
——————————————————————————–
I forever place my infant in the focus because, so I could keep an eye on him, and if somebody were to hit my car in the back door I wouldn’t have to horror as much for his safety. There is a high accident scale where I live.
——————————————————————————–
I had the same dilemma last year with my daughter. My adult daughter is in a shot on the passenger periphery. The baby car seated was too big to go in the center of the car. I ruined up parting the booster seat behind the passenger elevation and putting the baby car seat behind the driver’s bank. I also thought about switching, but I didn’t. It worked out gauzy and I still have my 15 months old car seat behind the driver’s periphery. I suppose if you vehicle is big enough in the back, you could put the baby car seat in the medium, supply wouldn’t fit. Good windfall!!
——————————————————————————–
I would say put the infant seat on the passenger surface. I mostly hammer by myself and I found it easier to scope back and give him a binkies or stop on him. Technically the safest is the central, but depending on your car and car seats there might not be area or your spawn might not like it either.
——————————————————————————–
What I would do is put the 2 y old in the medium only because they lean to reel down the screen and open the doors I would but the baby behind the passenger surface that way the passenger can grasp the baby it actually depends I’m available to put my infant behind the passenger trait because my husband is like 6 2 and I want the seat to fit behind certainly
——————————————————————————–
Are you departure to be isolated, that that into consideration, if so, you may want it so that you can see the baby, i.e., behind that passenger seat, but if you have always had your babies seats in the same place, you other child may feel they are being pushed aside, the baby taking their place, but you could always ask your child where they would like to sit. Also if your toddler “helps” with baby, i.e., bountiful mind talking to and what not, then you could sit them together, just be careful. Some toddlers get a little over delouse.
——————————————————————————–
If you have a small car, I would desert the toddler where he is and put the infant in the central.
——————————————————————————–
I put my almost 2 year old son behind the passenger seat (so that I could spread him if desirable while pouring) and my daughter in the midpoint. Infant carriers should ALWAYS go in the midpoint if at all likely. When she was big enough for an onward facing car seat, I had one on each section of the back seat. Now, with a 3rd baby on the way, a stern fit back there. Lol
——————————————————————————–
The perfect place would be the medium since it is safest, but since you already have a child, you may indigence to choice a flank. I have 2 kids as well. I have found it caring to have the adult child behind the driver and the younger behind the passenger. Since the new baby’s carseat must face backwards, it can confine where the driver puts their seat if behind the driver. I think the driver wants to be comfortable and cautious when dynamic, so it is better to have the pasenger’s side seat reserved from affecting all the way back. The elder child in a forward facing carseat will not keep the driver from putting their seat where they are comfortable.
——————————————————————————–
we have a relatively large car (sidestep stratus) and yet we found we could not securely fit our baby’s car seat in the middle with our toddler’s car seat next to the door. The car seated backs are just too spacious. Even though the middle seat is the safest, we had to place our toddler behind the driver’s seat and our infant behind the passenger seat. Once our third child is intuitive…We are departure to penury a new car! (If only there was an amalgam minivan on the advertise!!)
