Breastfeeding. how much weight did you loose?

how much breastfeeding
Hanna’s Mommie asked:

I've had my i 6 months after birth and have only gone from 180 (last prenatal visit), which is now 125. My doctor does not seem to concerned, but I'm still loosing weight, you can unfasten too much weight while breast feeding? I mean I eat healthy and my daughter still breast feeding big. I do not know just where to go on full! Normal or not? And how you unschackled in that period? The conjecture of distortion of the speed every body is different!

I think each mom is different. Sadly I didn’t even lose weight from breastfeeding for 9+ months.

I think as long as you are in a healthy weight range for you height, that you do not need to be concerned. Especially if your doctor isn’t concerned.

i was 125, gained 80 lbs while pregnant, and lost all my weight within a year.
6 months is fast but i wouldnt be worried about if your dr isnt. if he was concerened he would probably say something.

I am exclusively breastfeeding…. I weighed 177 at my last prenatal visit….. 2 weeks after having my son I had lost 25 lbs… I am now 135 and still losing (My son is 4 months old)… Only 5 lbs to go before I am at my prepregnancy weight.

Google : BMI , to see how much more you can safely lose before you should be concerned.

IYou don’t say what period of time it has been that you lost that much weight. That certainly figures into the equation.
I don’t think you can lose too much weight just from nursing unless you’re not eating healthy. If your doctor isn’t concerned, I’m sure you are fine. Check with a lactation nurse. Maybe you need to increase your own calories a bit or change your diet in some other way. Personally I nursed my son for almost a year and didn’t lose but maybe 10 lbs. It was very discouraging.

Well, my son is 3 months old now, I had gained 30 lbs when pregnant and it all came off within 3 weeks of having him. Now,,,,I am a little overweight to begin with and would like more to come off but havent lost any more then 10 extra….soooo I dont find that breastfeeding really takes it off…at least in my situation.

LOL… goes to show you everyone is different. I weighed
    142 before getting preg.
177 the day before my water broke.
180 3 days after giving birth ((WTF? I dont know either LOL))
    got down to
160 a week or two after that. Now my baby is 2 .5 months and I weigh
    170.

…. I wore size 9 jeans from before I was preg. to the day I gave birth (wore them home) and now I wear a size 13. make any sense to anybody????

You may eat healthy, but also may need to increase your intake of food, sounds like you’re burning a lot of calories. I wouldn’t worry though. My son is 7.5 months and I gained 60+ lbs during pregnancy and I have lost all but 10 of my lbs.

I weighed 185 at my last prenatal visit (HUGE!) and now five months later I weigh 142. I need to lose another 6 pounds in order to be back at my original weight. Breastfeeding rocks!
