Do I have to eat FISH to have a healthy child?
I am 2 months pregnant and haven’t eaten fish at all. Is it supposed to be included in my diet?
Did any of you eat fish during pregnancy?

The important thing you get from fish is DHA. They make a pre-natal DHA supplement called "Expecta." That’s what I take because I hate fish!

No – I didn’t eat fish. I never eat fish, or any other meat for that matter. But I did take Expecta – a DHA supplement so I would recommend you take that. I think all the information on what type of fish you should and shouldn’t eat while pregnant is somewhat confusing, so if you take the supplement you don’t have to worry about it.
I did find a vegan DHA supplement and I am still taking that since I am breastfeeding my daughter.
Good luck and congrats!!!
Fish is not necessary for a healthy diet during pregnancy, and actually most doctors discourage much consumption of fish because of the high mercury content in many fish. It is ok to eat it every once in a while but no more than a couple times a month.
I haven’t eaten any fish because last time I did during this pregnancy, it made me very very sick.
i ate fish rarely.
I did take Expecta DHA supplement.
It is an omega 3 fatty acid that is supposed to help the babies brain and eye development. I have taken it ever since i became pregnant.
It is a safe way to get it, so you dont have to eat all the fish and worry about mercury
you can get it at any drugstore..its about $10
no you dont have to eat fish to have a healthy baby-in fact you are not suppose to eat alot of fish. the fish you should try ot avoid are fish that has alot of mercury (the gray thing in seafood) such as fish like makeral-pollock etc. although a good fish to eat is snapper! i recommend you eat seafood a couple times a week
You have to be careful with what kind of fish you eat during pregnancy, because of the mercury. It’s good to have some occasionally, but don’t over do it. And if you don’t like fish, then don’t worry about it. Your baby will be just fine!
No, they have a wonderful new vitamin out called Expecta® LIPIL® DHA Supplement. I took it my entire pregnancy, it’s the alternative to eating fish. I pasted the link below. It’s about $13.00 a month but so worth it. And each box you buy usually has a coupon in it for $2.00 off.

Actually, most fish is on the "don’t eat" list b/c of mercury levels. I think I had popcorn shrimp a couple of times during my last pregnancy, and I had an 8 lb. baby! So I’m sure yours will be healthy if you don’t eat any.
No, you are actually supposed to limit your fish intake to 12 oz a week. I havent been eating it at all.
Just take your prenatals and dha supplements and you will get the nutrients you need.
I honestly don’t remember, but knowing that I really hate fish I can tell you that I only ate it if I had to. Shellfish, well that’s another story.
I ate fish rarely. I am not a big fan but LOVE shrimp. Just ask your doctor for a list of safe fish. you don’t have to eat it if u don’t want
no…..fish is actually bad for u during pregnancy…there is mercury in it and should be consumed as little as possible….. it might have so good points to it but overall its not healthy… ask ur doctor he will tell u
i didnt and my daughter was(and still is) perfectly healthy. i cant stand fish and its never a part of my diet.
Yes.Not only fish but also other meat and vegetables are important for you as you need all kinds of nutritions. You mustn’t reduce your amount of eating during pregnancy.
There are many people who are allergic to fish, or just don’t like it and have beautiful healthy kids.
I hate fish and always have, and I had a strapping, healthy 9 1/2 lb baby.
