Has anyone had low HCG levels and still had a healthy baby??
My HCG level was only 31. I have another test tomorrow to see if it has risen. I simply can’t wait that long!! I want to know if anyone has had similar experiences?? I bled for one day and had brown spotting for about 3days. I thought I would be about 5 weeks but I may be wrong

Stressing is not a good start, breath and relax, you will be fine, you may only be 4 and half weeks. You will notice a huge jump tomorrow… SO REMEMBER TO RELAX…

yes it is very possible……check this site out

i had low hcg levels and i gave birth to a healthy baby boy on the 6th of march 2008. i had him by c section tho because my pelvis was too small for him to come through and i was a week and 4 days overdue when they finally realized they got my due dates wrong because my periods are irregular. good luck and hold in there, it does turn out good.

I am sorry that you are worried. I have not had the experience personally but perhaps you actually conceived later than you thought and the spotting was only implantation bleeding? Good Luck to you!

hi all i m 28 weeks and 1 day pregnant and my baby moves alot does it mean i m having a healthy baby or something goin wrong with him?

i think it just means you have a very active baby. and that’s great

Other Comments:

The great thing about an active baby is that you know they are being well oxygenated. Some conditions can cause poor oxygenation. So your baby is receiving plenty of oxygen and he is getting plenty of exercise which helps build muscles. I would be more worried if there was a lack of movement.

Not necessarily. My daughter was not very active in the womb and she is healthy as a baby can be :) Also she is a VERY active baby, hasn’t stopped moving since she was 2 mths old. NOw shes going to be 6 mths tomorrow and ccrawling is just a short step away!

I’ve always heard an active baby is a healthy baby, also lots of morning sickness means a healthy pregnancy. If your concerned ask your primary care giver.

It’s good! When they move in the womb it’s helping them build their muscles. Plus, it helps you to know that they’re healthy in there!

My doctor always told me to worry when or if the baby stopped moving. My son moved a lot and he is a active little guy and healthy!

that’s what i’ve always heard,i hope it’s true im 20 weeks and my baby moves a lot too.good luck

What are the chances of having a healthy baby?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

What are the chances of having a healthy baby?
when the mother did not receive proper nutrition during the first trimester but received proper nutrition in the second and third trimester?she is active and exercise etc.

Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
I believe if the mother ate healthy and did as you say stayed away from drugs and alcohol etc. then the baby should be fine.
I was unable to get to the doctor with this pregnancy until my 2nd trimester. I took over the counter prenatal vitamins and My baby seems to be doing well. I am now 20 weeks pregnant. her heart beat was good and the ultrasound showed everything they can tell was fine.

With that said I do not recommend it to anyone. The best thing is to get a doctors care asap in pregnancy.

Good Luck!!

What do u mean by proper nutrition, first trimester is where all the vital organs start to develop.

If u mean McDonald’s that’s fine

What do u mean by proper nutrition?

depends on what is done the 1st trimester? drugs,drinking…..

ok then what are you talking about?? taking drugs and boozing it up is not good care.

Just try not worry, I had a miscarriage in Feb 2005, In May 2005 i conceived my son, who is now an extremely happy and healthy 2 yr old!!!!! I didn’t have any complications with that pregnancy…i’m now 21 weeks pregnant with number 2 and everything is going well. i know how hard it is but remember everything happens for a reason….you might have lost that baby just so you could have this one!!!! i wish you all the best and all the happiness!!!!!!!!!
good luck and congrats

i have had two early miscarriages one at 8 weeks and one at 4-6 weeks. Both were due to low progestrone levels, I found that out after the 2nd. The first one was in June 07 and the second one was in the very early part of September 07. I am now 23 weeks pregnant with my son and I got pregnant with him on October 4 07! Right after the 2nd! I didnt even have AF between. I right away went on progestrone supplements untill 12 weeks and then the plecenta takes over. He is healthy and very active. I can feel him moving around all the time!
So, I know it is very possible and very likely to happen! Please get your progestrone levels checked out right away! Good luck on your healthy pregnancy!

so far so good for me. i had a miscarriage in october and got pregnant again in december. i am 9 weeks and counting and things have been great. i still worry but there really isn’t anything you can do about it… if it’s meant to be it’ll happen. that’s the attitude i took and it has really helped me to put things into perspective.

I have 3 good friends that all had more than one miscarriage and all went on to have healthy babies.
I have also had a miscarriage and have had 2 daughters and am now 36 weeks pregnant.
Best wishes to you and I hope it goes well for you too.

Every pregnancy is different meaning your pregnancy now is not the one you lost 3 months ago. Let this one flourish. Don’t stress out. A healthy pregnancy is a happy one. I know two very good friends who had healthy babies right after m/c. Don’t worry too much just keep a close watch. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.

I’ve had four miscarriages, but also have two live children – so yes it is possible. Do you know why you had the first miscarriage? That can help you determine if this pregnancy will be a viable one. My miscarriages were due to a low progesterone level (we found out after the first three m/c). All I had to do was take a progesterone supplement the next time I got pregnant and my daughter was delivered healthy. I did the same thing with my son.

If you don’t know why you had the miscarriage, talk with your OB/GYN about other possible causes. There are many. Some are just due to chromosomal abnormalities, birth defects, etc..

Good luck with this pregnancy!!!

I miscarried May 2007 and then again Feb 2008 and when I asked my OB about my chance of miscarrying again he said that statistically you are LESS likely to miscarry after a miscarriage unless the pregnancy was lost due to an abnormality with the mother (ie. incompetent cervix etc.)

Best of luck.

Do you try to eat healthy while you are pregnant? If not, did you let your cravings take over once in a while?

Do you try to eat healthy while you are pregnant? If not, did you let your cravings take over once in a while?
Or did you when you were pregnant?

I ate healthy during my pregnancies to the extent that I made sure I got a variety of foods. I ate lots of salad, drank lots of milk, and ate chicken, beef, and fish that was broiled or baked instead of fried.

My major cravings were pretty healthy things. Eggs and raisin bran were things that I craved on a daily basis that I ate whenever I wanted. Other times I would crave hot dogs and bolonga, not the healthiest things, but not the worst, either. I wasn’t going to get fat as a cow because I had one hot dog.

The thing I struggled with was Big Macs. I always wanted one!! I would give in and get myself one once or twice a week. Not healthy at all, and full of fat.

I feel like, usually, what you crave is what your body needs. A lot of women crave ice cream, which isn’t that bad for you if you get a low-fat kind. Why fight what your body is telling you to eat?

Other Comments:

check with your doctor. i have 2 kids i craved fish sand which from MC Donald’s and they came out fine.

I ate really healthy throughout my pregnancy, except for ONE DAY, I ate Wendy’s cheeseburger and chili. Immadiately after I had false labor for a few hours. I went to the hospital and everything. Had to be induced a week later.

The one thing I ever craved during pregnancy was peppery beef jerky and that was before I even new I was pregnant.

I really don“t eat that healthy.

when pregnant I tried to eat healthy and also ate according to my cravings because i believe your body craves what it needs. with my 1st I craved pizza and had lots of nausea. with my second I was never hungry and always felt full and had bad heartburn so didn’t eat very much so tried to eat higher calories or high protein, things like peanut butter sandwiches or eggs in salad. I also would sometimes write what I ate to see if I was getting enough calories. my 2nd baby sucked it all from me and i actually LOST weight…my arms, legs and face got thinner!

I try to eat healthy, just as I was raised. But, I definitely eat whatever I am craving. Not only have I read that it’s your body’s way of telling you what you or the baby needs, my doctor and ob have also told me the same thing. I had morning sickness for 4 months and lost almost 25 pounds, I was told to eat whatever I thought I could eat so that I would atleast have something in me. Since then, I have tried staying away from Chinese and Mexican (two of my favorites) because it gives me bad heartburn and constipation. Other than that, go for whatever your body is telling you.

just eat good balanced meals that you like to eat.and it always seems that your craving always seems to take over once in a while

I eat very healthy when pregnant. It’s what’s best for the baby.

Be honest with each other, and try not to fight, have good times, because with a baby it can make a relaitonship more uptight at times, and sometimes it can make yau’ll feel closer to one another for sharing such a beautiful blessing. Alot of my friends had babies and are still with the babies daddy, only 2 are not. You can do it girl, go u!lol Goodluck and congrats!

Don’t fight with him it’s not good for the baby. Just le him no, if he wants to be apart of the child’s life he’s welcome and if not you will be just fine on your own. If you realy love this man make sure he know’s how you feel about him. Don’t let him treat you bad or anything. Good Luck with everything, and congrats!

Just stay honest and faithful

ask your dr.

well i have to say that being pregnant and keeping the relationship with your honey is hard. There has been various times that the man gets jelous about you paying more attention to the baby than him… awkward isn’t it? but then you have to be more caring with him and show him how much you care and love him.

more info please
are you with the father, or are you married, seperated, broke up?
what is the situation?
why dont you already have a healthy relationship with him?

If the parents are healthy when the baby is conceived will the baby have a better chance of being healthy?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

If the parents are healthy when the baby is conceived will the baby have a better chance of being healthy?
This may be a dumb question, but…

If both parents are overweight, have poor eating habits, ect.. would there be an effect on the baby when it is conceived?

Also, if the parents are healthy, have good eating habits, exercise, take vitamins, ect…
Will the baby be of better health?

Have any clinics or hospitals ever studied this?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters
It mostly depends on genes. I guess most children do follow behind their family’s BUT you also learn bad habits growing up. So it goes both ways. A baby can also take after someone from far back into a family like a great great grandfather.

Other Comments:

I think it does depend a bit on the parents’ health..

A baby’s genetic make up will determine whether they are healthy or not. Two healthy fit people may have a baby who is sick or disabled for that very reason.

We are fortunate in the Western world that many of our foods are fortified with vitamins (like bread), so most babies have a pretty good chance right from conception. However, once a baby is born, a parents lifestyle will definately impact how healthy they will be as they grow, and they choices they make.

there’s no 100% sure answer to this. Only statistics are linked to answers to this question. Health problems occur for different reasons and at different times in a baby’s life.

I dont think there have been studies done on this, but one would think the baby with the healthier parents would be better. It is important when pregnant, to eat properly, try to quit smoking and if you can’t quit then at least cut down on the amount you smoke. Exercise is still good, although towards the end of pregnancy you may not feel like it. there is no reason why you can’t exercise while pregnant, keep it light, eat right and you should be good to go!

Don’t be silly.

She can have kids and breast feed. BTW – Her breasts will swell up when she’s pregnant, too.

Size doesn’t matter.

Other Comments:

Yeah

yes

Breast size is no indication of whether or not a woman is fertile. It is also not related to a woman’s ability to produce children.

A woman will constantly produce milk the entire time she is breastfeeding. Therefore, even if she doesn’t have as much room to hold as much milk as other women, she will still produce it constantly and will keep the baby happy and full.

Also, not all women are able to breastfeed, regardless of breast size. This doesn’t mean they aren’t able to have children.

Of course. Breast size has nothing to do with it.

sure..my ex had itty bitty titties

of course she can!!!

Every woman can breastfeed no matter the size of the breasts. There are times that small breasts produce more milk than the big ones, trust me!

Has there been any cases in which female siamese twins given birth of healthy offspring or offsprings?

Has there been any cases in which female siamese twins given birth of healthy offspring or offsprings?
I was watching a show on these 16 year old conjoined twins, and it’s really heart-breaking and inspiring…darn, i feel bad, but I don’t want to feel sorry for them, because they are great people,oh well..i take so many things for granted in my life..anyways, , uh, these were just one of the questions I had in mind while I was watchin the show..thanks

Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
That is a good question, and I have spent an hour looking up examples, you have me curious!

"There are instances where conjoined twins have even married and become parents." http://ezinearticles.com/?Conjoined-Twin… It doesn’t give any examples .. that is all it says.

Ooooh I just found this one:
"In 1993, the twins bore a daughter by Caesarean section, but she died a few hours after birth. Though they would like to have children, doctors fear that pregnancy would endanger the sisters’ lives. Ganga and Jamuna appeared in world news most recently in 2003, after the tragic deaths of Laleh and Ladan Bijani in surgery in Singapore. The sisters stated publicly that they will never allow themselves to be separated, not only because of the medical risks but because they believe it would be against the will of god" http://www.phreeque.com/jandal_sisters.h…

Here is another:::
"Another pronounced difference between the sisters was Rosa’s interest in the opposite sex. Although the twins shared sensations in the genital area (but had separate vaginae above a joined vaginal orifice), Josefa consistently claimed that she disapproved of Rosa’s behavior. In 1909, one of Rosa’s liasons resulted in pregnancy. She claimed she had intercourse but once, on July 20 of that year, but refused to name her partner. Speculation arose that the twins’ agent was the responsible party, and he evidently believed the rumors, as he offered the twins a covert settlement of 95,000 marks a year for three years. In April of 1910 Rosa checked into the Kukula Surgical Clinic in Prague with complaints of appendicitis; however, Rosa’s recent history of abdominal swelling and lack of menses belied the true cause of their "illness". On April 16, a baby boy was delivered vaginally after an unremarkable labor.

Few details of Rosa’s unprecedented lying-in were ever reported. This is partially due to a certain amount of secrecy, maintained with the intent of protecting the twins’ reputation, but also on account of the doctors’ mishandling of the case. None of the medical men on duty had ever heard of a conjoined twin giving birth. By the time the head physician, a Dr. Stanislav Tobiasko, was notified, Rosa’s contractions had begun, and when he arrived, the baby was already born, despite attempts to delay her labor by applying ice to her abdomen. Nevertheless, in the absence of first-hand information, the press did not hesitate to fill in the details themselves. European papers teemed with fictionalized accounts of the twins’ sexual escapades, indicting Rosa as a harlot and maintaining that Josepha was an unwilling victim of her sister’s immorality. One Vienna paper went to far as to claim Josepha was drugged to silence her protests as Rosa had intercourse!

The baby boy was named Franz, after his alleged father, a soldier named Franz Dvorak, but was known by the diminutive Franzl or "Little Franz". Both twins produced milk and were able to nurse the child, although a wet nurse was employed for the sake of convenience. At one point Franzl was left in an orphanage while his mother(s) toured. According to Rose, their manager, "The fact that both women were able to nurse the child at birth proved the intimacy of their physical relationship." Rosa desired to marry Franz Sr. and was allowed to do so only after a lengthy court battle, and even then he was fined for bigamy. He was killed in 1917 while fighting in the Austrian (some say German) army, but Rosa called herself Mrs. Dvorak for the rest of her life. At one point Josefa also became engaged to marry, but her fiance died of appendicitis before the wedding could take place"http://www.phreeque.com/balzek_sis…

Has anyone had a baby at 36 or 37 weeks and were they healthy?
Best Answer – Chosen by Asker
My daughter was taken at 36 weeks, 3 days unnecessarily (BAD dr, long story!!). She never had one health issue besides moderate jaundice, which I cleared up with sun exposure and around-the-clock breastfeeding. :)
Due dates are approximate! I wouldn’t worry too much honey! Your body is naturally getting ready for labor, and odds are your baby is completely healthy and ready to be born!
I’ll be praying for you, okay? Good luck!

There are babies born at that gestation that have been healthy. But you should try not to have the baby till 38-40 weeks. This is because the lungs may not be fully developed at 36/37 weeks. 38 weeks is considered full-term.

And I’d like to say that I agree with the poster who said inducing early is never a good idea, it isn’t. Induction it’s self should be put off all together unless it’s absolutely necessary or a high risk pregnancy that requires it. Induction leads to c-sections.

Babies born between 37 and 42 completed weeks of pregnancy are called full term. Babies born before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy are called premature. About 12.5 percent of babies (more than half a million a year) in the United States are born prematurely.

Premature birth is a serious health problem. Premature babies are at increased risk for newborn health complications, as well as lasting disabilities, such as mental retardation, cerebral palsy, lung and gastrointestinal problems, vision and hearing loss, and even death. Many premature babies require care in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which has specialized medical staff and equipment that can deal with the multiple problems faced by premature infants.

Most premature babies (71.2 percent) are born between 34 and 36 weeks of gestation (1). These are called late preterm births. Almost 13 percent of premature babies are born between 32 and 33 weeks of gestation, about 10 percent between 28 and 31 weeks, and about 6 percent at less than 28 weeks of gestation (1).

All premature babies are at risk for health problems, but those born before about 32 weeks of gestation face the highest risk. These babies usually are very small, and their organs are less developed than those of babies born later. Fortunately, advances in obstetrics and neonatology (the branch of pediatrics that deals with newborns) have improved the chances of survival for even these smallest babies.

Not only are premature babies often small and sick, but also they may look and behave very differently than full-term babies. For example, their skin may be thin and wrinkled, and their heads may look too large for their bodies. But these babies look the way they should at their stage of development. They will begin to appear and act more like full-term babies as they continue to develop and grow.

While my babies were on time or late, I have a friend who had her first baby at 35 weeks, and he was perfectly healthy. Her second and third were born at 36 weeks, and again both were healthy also. She recently gave birth to a set of twins at 32 weeks – again, both healthy.

36-37 weeks is pretty close to full-term, and other than a low birth weight, most babies born in that time frame are healthy.

i don’t want to scare you 36 to 37 week old babies are usually fine but if you can i know its not up to you but if you can wait as much as you can as long as the dr doesnt say otherwise my cousin had her son at 37 week and he was perfectly fine he weighed 6lbs 5 oz and was 19 in lon but i had my son at 36 weeks and he weighed 5lbs 5 oz and was 18 in long he had to stay in NICU for two weeks because he had a hard time breathing when he was born but after a couple hours he was fine, then they were giving him antibiotics so thats why he had to stay but then he had jaundice, then he didn’t know how to eat, he didn’t know how to suck, swallow, and breathe at the same time so we had to help him eat and i couldn’t take him home until he learn how to eat because they were afraid he would loose to much weight, and when he would eat he would get tired and fall asleep, he wouldn’t even drink an oz but he got through i brougt him home after 15 days and he has been fine he is now 14 months and weighs 27 pounds and he is the happiest baby i have ever seen. he grew so fast and he is very healthy

Although 37 weeks is considered full term, it’s best for baby if s/he can remain inside mum for those final weeks. Inducing early – without medical reason – is never recommended.

One of my friends had her first baby at 36 weeks. She was healthy, but since hvaing her 2nd at 40weeks she said she has been amazed at the difference in alertness, moods, breastfeeding and size.

37 weeks is considered technically full term.

My cousin’s son came at 36 weeks. He was perfectly healthy and is still perfectly healthy at age 7.

i went into labor on my own when i was 37 weeks and my daughter was healthy 7 lbs 7 oz and she was my first child

my son was born at 37 1/2 wks. He was a very healthy 8 lbs 9 oz baby!! good luck

My friend just had hers at 36 weeks and he was in perfect health

I’ve seen hundreds of 36-27 week babies come out perfectly fine!
