If you’re really concerned about him being constipated then give him some prune juice. Just a couple of mls and then wait. It may take a day for anything to happen but if it doesn’t then give him some more. It won’t harm him in any way, just help him go

If it doesn’t clear up within a few days ask your doctor about a laxative called senokot

I was just going to say, try prune juice or apple juice but at 5 weeks old, not sure if you should be introducing that into their diet just yet…but I could be wrong – it could be fine.

I assume you’re formula feeding him…I would try switching formulas. Consider a low-iron formula as iron DOES cause constipation but do check with a pediatrician, doctor or pharmacist first.

Don’t give him prune juice, he is too young for that.

You can give him some warm water, if you want. This should help.

buy some baby suppositories..I had to do this for my son also, I would lay him on a blanket and insert the suppository and he would have a movement within minutes, they are safe to use, inexpensive..and they keep…..at room temperature….I also gave him water, that seemed to help some too….also a little watered down prune juice….(not the juice and the suppository at the same time)….that is what I did for my son…he also had a huge appetitie…good luck….

no to prune juice about an hour after the bottle give him a bit of cooled boiled water same as you use to make up the formula and this should help his stomach wont be able to digest prune juice yet and this will only give him diarrhea and cause more problems like dehydration
