mom of 3 boys asked:
They are just curious how many calories should I eat to keep in good health … and if not I have the same calories as amny were instructing him inside? and as you can see what to eat to lose weight if you have a child always makes him hungry?

If you are nursing, it’s pretty intensive to focus on how many calories. Just feed him WHENEVER he is hungry and if he’s healthy, he’ll let you know how many calories he needs by either stop eating or eating until full. You’ll drive yourself crazy worrying about it right now. BM, like formula, has 20 cals per oz, by the way.

You burn 500-700 calories per day breastfeeding. So you need to eat that much if you want to maintain your weight or less if you want to lose some pregnancy weight. Your body will produce milk either way unless you became greatly underweight.
The general recommendation is that you feed babies 10-15 minutes on each breast to be sure they are getting enough. look for signs that they are still hungry or not. Your pediatrician will tell you if they are gaining enough weight. If you’re really worried you can buy a scale to weigh them after each feeding to see how much he took in but its not really necessary.
