My 5 weeks old? sparatic much, sometimes eats 4 ounces no problem and other drinks only 2 1 / 2 – 3 1 / 2. Sometimes eats 2, falls asleep for an hour, eat the other 2 and then was still hungry now! Rarely goes pi? 3 hours between feeds, perhaps 1 or 2 times a normal day

32 oz, every 4 hours, INFIDEL, it varies from child to child, when she’s done, she’s done

  2. jmmevolve says:

What is normal? All babies eat when hungry, sleep when tired.

  3. mom of 2 says:

normally it’s 2oz. per 2 to 3 hours, but every child is different, as long as your baby is not spitting up,I’d give her what she needs

  4. tereval198912 says:

    8ounces every 4 hrs

Yes it is. Infants know when they’re hungry & let you know with a cry, of course. You can start her on a little bit of baby cereal too. It will help keep her tummy fuller. DO NOT put the cereal in the bottle. That’s a recipe for choking. Feed her the cereal on a soft tipped spoon for infants & mix the cereal with her formula. DO NOT add sugar! When she’s older, around 4 months, you can add jarred baby fruit once a day to get a fruit serving in. My son was sporadic like your daughter. I did the cereal thing & he leveled out on his feedings.

OH my goodness..DO NOT give your five week old cereal yet!

They take what they need. don’t stress. They don’t always eat the same amount at every feeding.

  7. brevejunkie says:

Depends on the baby, but most five week olds can consume between 2 – 3 ounces every 2 to 3 hours. For a better answer, try calling your baby’s pediatrician.

Your baby should go through about 12 cans of formula a month till he/she is about 6mo then it will drop to 10 cans a month

my son ate about 2 oz every 3 hours. but then again he was only 3lbs12oz when he was born and would eat no more than an oz. i think that it is sad when a parent feed their baby too often. all it does it teach them that when they are upset u should eat. thats why america is getting so large weight wise. the doctor told me to feed him every 3 hours even at night when i set the alarm to wake up. he was never fussy. i dont know anybody else’s baby who was so good. feed ur baby as much as they want at the time and then wait til its feeding time again to give them more, not when they want, not when they wake up in an hour…
