How much should a 11 week baby girl weigh?
Neda La asked:
My newborn is 11 weeks and she 's only to breast feed. Yesterday we went to the doctor and was weighed and was 58cm and 4.6 kilograms. It is not big girl so I'm not providing a heavy result, but I have heard this rule of thumb that a child should weigh twice the weight or something that was born when she 's 6 months. Anyone who has heard something similar? Appreciate all the info. (This was 3.07kg when born and 250 lost after birth) thanks

The weight for your baby can be different depending on many different factors, the ideal body weight for this age is approximately 5.7 Kgs (12.56 Pounds) but like I said earlier, it can be different for a number of different reasons. I think she’ll be just fine but if you are concerned about her weight you should talk to your doctor.

All babies are different, but if she is not gaining weight at the appropriate rate you may want to supplement with formula to see how much she is really eating at a nursing session (or pump and see if she is full afterward)
