Is my baby hitting a growth spurt?

My child? a little over 4 months and one week old. I noticed that yesterday was really tired and irritable. He took the hair pi? long (still slept at night, too) and today? the same thing. I know she 's not sick, just seems very sleepy. Could this be the result of a development project?

Either a growth spurt or an early sign of teething.

It could be. Usally they eat a lot more too around a growth spurt. She might be teething too.

She could just be tired from extra stimulation too.
Either way – just keep an eye on her. If it continues, and worsens…. give the doc a ring.

My son is 3 weeks old and according to my Dr. he is going through a growth spurt as well. He has been asking for more food, but contrary to your baby…sleeping A LOT LESS!

My kids were heavy growers and every time they were on the edge of a spurt they got cranky, ate more, and slept more, so I’d say if there’s no signs of illness that’d be my guess.

Yep, sure can be. You may notice that she had or will be eating more often. The day after my baby has a growth spurt she sleeps pretty long and hard and seems disinterested in other things besides getting rocked to sleep. Some babies do this during or before…
