Some dogs have spotted feet. You’re trying to scrub off his skin that’s probably why he’s agitated.

  2. TJ2006 Says:

Yes fine to use but if they have alcohol then it does dry out the area. Use a baby lotion on those areas after cleaning that is hypo- allergenic free and should be fine!
Paws are in all colors so makes no difference!

  3. cameo's Mom Says:

Most Maltese have pigment in their feet, that is black. Don’t rub his feet too hard with anything to make him agitated. I use them too but I use the aloe vera or unscented ones.

I wouldnt use baby wipes.. some of them do contain ingredients that may cause allergies or reactions. For example many contain lanolin, which is known to cause allergic reactions in my breed!

Your best bet is just a clean, warm wash cloth for wipe-downs.

Paws can be either color.. since your pup is a maltes, Im going to say that most likely his paws started out as pink, but he’s developing some pigment in his skin.. the paws may end up all black, or mostly black when he’s done maturing!

If you would shave a white dog down, you’d see that their skin is not completely pink.. there are ussually spots of some color on the skin, similar to freckles… puppies may not have any or much pigment in their skin at birth, but ussually get spots as they mature, even if the coat stays white.

Yes you can use baby wipes, and most puppies have some pink on their pads, and his will most likely turn completely black as he grows.

  6. Gina G Says:

Make sure the baby wipes do not contain Aloe-it’s toxic to dogs.
Rinse the paws so he doesn’t lick any fragrance off. It should be fine, though. He is a puppy so I would definitely check with a vet about any kind of baby wipe with Aloe-he may be more susceptible to it. It isn’t the pure form either. But I would check or rinse the wipes before using.
