What age can i start taking baby to the beach? Do they make sunscreen especially for baby or do I use any kind? How do I keep sand from blowing in baby’s eyes? Any other info or tips would be great, thanks.
baby is almost 7 months old.

there’s no special rules I don’t think.
Buy baby sunblock (factor 50 or above) make sure baby has a hat on and keep them in the shade most of the time

You can take baby to the beach at any age, but the older baby is, the more comfortable you and baby will be. Make sure you take a BIG umbrella or a tent to protect baby from sun. Also, how old is the baby? Make sure you use at least SPF 50 for babies and get a net to put around bouncer/playpen to prevent sand from coming in. Take lots of drinks and snacks but most of all make sure baby stays in the shade as much as possible. Have fun!

they do make sunscreen for babies….i wate until they can play on their bellies before taking them on a random outing to the beach….but if it’s a special occassion and you really wanna go i would watch the weather. babies with fair skin can burn even if they are in the shade….no to metion they are just misserable if it’s too hot. try to get the highest level protection you can find and lather them up everycouple of hours. i would reccomend taking a play pen and covering the top with a light blanket and also light in color to reflect the light. depending on the way the wind is blowing, cover the side with a light blanket as well to prevent sand from coming in. i would honestly wait until they could enjoy the beach before taking them out in the sun and sand…but if you can’t avoid it try my tips…hope this helps

Do not let the sun shine in the baby’s eyes. It doesn’t take very long to cause permanent damage to their eyes.

Sunblock (even baby sunblock) is not approved for babies under 6 months of age. If your baby is younger I would cover them up with clothes and a hat. The sun is damaging to babies vision if their eyes get too much exposure. I have a little pink and grey sun umbrella for babies I got at CVS for $10 and my daughter prefers to relax in the shade when we go anyway.

At babies r us they have baby sunscreen. I also saw this tent-like babydome for about $30 that would be perfect to take to the beach as well.
