What should I serve the babies at my daughter’s 1st birthday party?

babies
We’re having a pretty big party at our house, with about 30 adults and 6 or 7 babies, including mine. The babies will all be 7 to 15 months old. I know that this is a larger party than recommended, but my daughter is very social and I invited her whole daycare class. Everyone is local and they can take off if their kids are nervous about the large crowd. My baby won’t be. Anyway, we’re doing burgers and dogs for the adults. What should I set out for the babies? What baby finger foods are good for parties?

Thank you!

i’d get those crackers that mush when spit gets on them.. very easy for the small ones to eat! they have those little gerber ‘my first snacks’ thing too!

Since you seem to having a meal and not just snacks, how about chicken nuggets, fish sticks, whole grain crackers, grapes cut in half, cherry or grape tomatoes cut in half. I’m thinking the older ones (over a year) can eat burgers and hot dogs. Have fun!

give em all a bib!! number one…and who doesn’t like popsicles?( there are 100% juice ones on the market ) or you can make them yourself.(dollarstore has popsicle moulds, and sticks) You can also probably pick up some fun trinkets, or party favors….at half the price!!….Happy Birthday baby!!
I don’t agree with baby finger foods- baby’s should ALWAYS be supervised when eating. And that’s not much of a party having to watch 20 kids to see if they’re choking)..what may be small for one, maybe too large for anothers throat.
Put them all in the grass with a popsicle, guaranteed they’ll be busy at least 10 minutes!!! then have a couple warm rags (and two volunteers) and wipe away!
They will be too excited to eat anyway..with all the other kids, let them have something quick, and get back to play, when the adults eat, have them share as they would at home..offer little bits and bites(like corn on the cob)there will be plenty of time for them to eat in their normal routine tommorrow…Good Luck

How about a homemade mac&cheese and fruit salad? Those are my daughter’s favorites. The adults will probably enjoy them too!

for babies, cookies are good. but giving them foods such as breads, pasta and slices of meats like chicken fillet and deboned fish is another option with a plus. you may also serve sliced boiled carrots and mashed potaoes for them. another healthy servings for babies are sliced fresh fruits such as apple, papaya, pear, orange and banana. All of these are full of vitamins a, b, c and d, plus carbohydrates and potassium, which are all good for the developing bones, muscles, and heart. Also, we need not to worry about their digestive system. these are what i usually serve whenever we have a family gathering with my kids.
