sammyyy: lilly’s mummy ♥ asked:

How old were they? They ate more? Dorma for more? My daughter 's 3 weeks old and' said that the VE should have an early jet development. She 's sleeping a lot today, just wondered if that was cos of a development project:)

5 Answers & Suggestion to “When did your baby have their first growth spurt?”

  1. Lynne - Not A Supermum! Says:

The main growth spurts are usually around 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months, 9 months and a year. My first was almost exact to that and my second so far has been very close too. Usually, they will have a few days of pretty much just eating and sleeping. They may be a little fussier, which is nothing to worry about. You’re breastfeeding right? Well, be prepared to feed a lot more! lol… she will cluster feed to increase your supply and to get more herself, so it’s usually a tricky few days.
    It passes though :-D
    Good luck, can’t believe she’s 3 weeks already…. xx

3 weeks. They get them at 3 weeks as well, Breastfed or Formula fed.

My little one is spot on with growth spurts too, and grew 4cms in 2 weeks! 11 weeks now and waiting for the next one.

  4. Sarah Says:

My children were about 4 – 6 weeks for their very first (of MANY) growth spurts! And yes, they ate so much I feared they were starving and they took much longer and earlier naps than usual.

Every child follows a different pattern, though, so if she feels like eating more or sleeping more at any age, just let her because her little body knows what it needs.

    Good luck, Mama!
